About Ash Apiaries and Sunshine Valley Honey Ash Apiaries is a family-operated honey producer and processor in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba, about four hours north of Winnipeg. The business was founded in 1972 by Floyd and Peggy Ash, and is now run by Peggy, Floyd and their three sons: Brent, Grant and Bryan.
In 1989, Ash Apiaries expanded and started producing natural creamed honey. Creamed honey is 100% pure Canadian honey in a unique format. Ash's liquid honey is "seeded" with ultra-fine grind granulated canola honey to produce a creamed honey that is pearly-white in colour, spreads like firm butter, and is mild tasting. Ash Apiaries continues to process its own brand of Sunshine Valley liquid honey, and also makes cinnamon and strawberry-flavoured creamed honey. The state-of-the-art processing and packing plant also provides custom packaging of a wide variety of liquid and creamed food products, including:
We can package it in tubs of all sizes, squeeze bottles for liquids, and glass containers of all sizes including small gift or sample sizes. Whether it's your honey or jams or ours, whether it's a barrel or a semi-trailer load, we can accommodate your packaging needs. Ash Apiaries' commitment to quality and food safety is emphasized through its involvement in the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) system, as well as its AAA rating for Establishment Inspection Report Rating from Agriculture Canada, the highest rating available.
